FAQ — Sub’n’Hub Help

Find here the most common answers to create a Twitch subathon: timer, OBS overlay, stats, settings and troubleshooting.

What is a Twitch subathon?

A subathon is a livestream controlled by a timer: each subscription (and depending on your settings, sometimes donations/bits/follows/raids too) adds time. The goal is simple: turn your stream into a real event, with visible progress and strong community participation.

What is Sub’n’Hub used for?

Sub’n’Hub lets you create and manage your subathon in one place: timer settings, a ready-to-use OBS overlay, live stats tracking, and a clean dashboard to run everything without messy setup.

Is Sub’n’Hub free?

Yes. You can start with a free version. Some features (for example premium overlays, advanced options or deeper stats) may depend on your plan, but for a simple subathon with subs + timer management only, it’s completely free!

How do I start a subathon on Sub’n’Hub?

1) Log in with Twitch. 2) Create your subathon. 3) Configure your rules (starting duration, time per sub, donation/bits ratio, etc.). 4) Copy your overlay URL from your dashboard and paste it into OBS. Then you can manage everything from your interface (start / pause / monitoring).

How do I add the Sub’n’Hub overlay to OBS?

In OBS: Sources → + → “Browser”. Paste your overlay URL, then set the width/height (usually 1920×1080 or depending on your template). The overlay updates automatically during your stream.

What size / resolution should I use for the overlay?

In most cases: 1920×1080. If your overlay is a banner (top/bottom), use the size provided by your template (for example 1920×300). The key point is matching the Browser Source size with your OBS canvas.

Why is my overlay black or empty in OBS?

First, check the URL (exact copy/paste) and test it in a normal web browser. Then in OBS: verify the source size (W/H), refresh the source, and avoid settings that may put the page to sleep. If the issue continues, support can quickly diagnose it using your overlay link.

The timer doesn’t move: what should I check?

Make sure the subathon is actually started (not paused) in your dashboard and that your overlay points to the correct subathon. If needed, refresh the Browser Source in OBS (right click → Refresh).

How does the pause system work?

When you pause, the timer freezes. When you resume, it continues exactly where it stopped. This is perfect for IRL breaks, transitions, or technical issues without “losing” time.

What happens when the timer reaches zero?

When the timer reaches zero, the subathon ends. Stats and info can remain available as history. This is the end of the event. Sub’n’Hub can also generate a nice final image to share your subathon stats on social media.

How much time should I add per sub (T1/T2/T3)?

There is no universal rule: it depends on your stamina and your community size. A common simple base is: T1 = 10 min, T2 = 20 min, T3 = 30 min. Adjust depending on your goal (short event vs long marathon).

How should I set donation and bits ratios?

The most important thing is clarity. A simple example: 1€ = 1 minute and 100 bits = 1 minute. Choose a rule you can easily explain and that stays realistic for the total duration you want.

Can I display only the timer (without stats)?

Yes. You can choose which elements are shown on the overlay (timer, stream time, subs/bits/donations, etc.) depending on your template and your plan.

Can I customize the overlay style?

Yes. Depending on your plan, you can customize elements like colors, visible blocks, and sometimes themes/animations. The goal is a clean and readable overlay that matches your stream identity.

Can my moderators help me manage my subathon?

Yes. Your moderators can help you manage almost everything. They simply sign up on Sub’n’Hub, and you add the moderators you want (ideally trusted people). Once added, they can start the subathon, pause or end it, adjust settings (subs/donations/bits/follows/raids), edit the overlay and what is displayed, and view all statistics. The main restriction is that they cannot delete the subathon. The goal is simple: you focus on streaming, while they handle the event management when needed.

Does Sub’n’Hub work on mobile?

Yes for management (dashboard and settings) if your interface is responsive. The overlay itself is just a web page: it is usually displayed in OBS on PC, but you can open the link on mobile to quickly check it.

Can I use Sub’n’Hub without a bot / without a Stream Deck?

Yes. The minimum setup is: a browser + OBS. You manage everything from the dashboard, and the overlay updates automatically during the stream.

How can I avoid overlay delays or lag?

Keep OBS lightweight: avoid unnecessary Browser Sources, use the correct resolution, and refresh the overlay if needed. A stable connection and a clean overlay setup always improve responsiveness.

I have an issue: how do I contact support?

Simply go to the Support page on the website and open a request by selecting the subathon concerned. Describe the issue clearly, and add a screenshot if possible (OBS or dashboard). The support/moderation team is here to be responsive and has access to the subathon’s stats and events: even in case of a bug or mistake, nothing is “lost” and it can be fixed quickly.
